A survey suggests about eight in ten startup companies in South Korea are interested in hiring 

foreign nationals but many of them have found the process difficult.
The survey released Tuesday by the Korea International Trade Association and the global HR 

solution company DEEL found 78 percent said they'd like to hire foreigners, and 48 percent 

said they already have.

As for the difficulties, 55 percent said finding the right people and doing background checks.
Of the startups that have recruited foreigners living abroad over 90 percent have the employees 

work remotely.
An official at DEEL said that because labor laws differ in each country, startups often need expert 

advice on contracts, payroll and benefits.
